Hamed Mohammed Al Qurm
I am Hamed Mohammed Al-Qurm, a resident of Gaza City, Southern Sands, Tal Al-Hawa area, I am ten years old and I am studying in the fifth grade of primary school, whenever I hold a book, I felt my hands tremble, and trembled with fear when I turned over its pages, I always said inside me that I don't like reading stories, when I saw my friends each with him reading a story I felt very shy and I used to tell myself why they like to read but my attitude changed completely after I joined the friends of Samar Library Established by the Ataa Palestine Charitable Society at the Steadfast House Foundation.
One day I was going to the library with my friends there was a child reading a story aloud I envied him so much that I took the story home and tried to read it more than once in
The next day, I went to the library and found no one inside except the librarian. She asked me if I wanted to read a story, and I said yes. I went and sat on a chair, and she brought me a story. At that time, I was only looking at the pictures, and the librarian noticed this. She said to me, 'I want to read the story you have.' She took it from me, sat beside me, read the story, and gave me the story to read at home. She told me, 'Tomorrow, I want you to read it to the library visitors.'
Although I was fond of adventure stories, I could not read them completely; I was content to understand them through the illustrations and reading some of the words. However, at that time, I read the story more than once at home and read it to my mother, father, and siblings. The next day, I went to the library with the story. I was very happy because I was going to read it to my friends in the library. I read the story, and the librarian encouraged me, gave me a gift, and said, 'You are now one of the library's friends.' I was very happy because afterward, all the children became my friends.
