The story:
Mona Walid Al-Qattan Library was established by Ataa Palestine Charitable Society on 04/09/2005, at the premises of the Women's Activity Center Association _ Beit Hanoun, funded by the generous Dr. Walid Al-Qattan.
Haitham and Walin are fatherless orphans, and their mother works as a teacher to be able to support them. This compelled her to enroll her children in the nursery affiliated with the Women's Activity Center Association _ Beit Hanoun at the beginning of 2013. During their time at the nursery, they often appeared sad and extremely bored due to staying for long periods there. The librarian, Miss Amany Shabat, noticed this as she passed daily in front of the nursery room on her way to the library. She decided to get to know them and talk to them in an attempt to understand the reasons behind their constant sadness. She indeed got to know them and drew them into the library so they could be like their peers among friends of the library and its visitors, enjoying beneficial stories. After several visits to the library
The librarian, Amina, discovered that the children were experiencing a state of boredom and deep sadness due to spending a long time in the nursery. Amina immediately took care of them, always participating with them in the group activities carried out in the library, and motivated them through small gifts. Eventually, they grew to love going to the association just to sit in the library, refusing to stay in the nursery because they could engage in what they loved—reading stories, participating in recreational and creative activities, and expressing their feelings through drawing and other activities. The children became constantly happy and joyful.
